130 new COVID-19 cases announced Tuesday - The Brandon Sun

The province announced 130 new cases of COVID-19 and seven additional deaths on Tuesday.

None of the new deaths were in the Prairie Mountain Health Region.

A total of 850 people were vaccinated against the virus at the newly opened vaccine supersite at the Winnipeg RBC convention centre on Tuesday, the province’s acting deputy chief public health officer Dr. Jazz Atwal said.

While the initial rollout of the vaccine is slow, Atwal promised the program will ramp up as the month goes on.

Brandon’s vaccination centre is scheduled to open at the Keystone Centre on Jan. 18.

See Wednesday’s newspaper for more details.
