Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry pointed the finger at himself after the team fell 116-95 to the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.
Lowry finished with seven points in the Game 3, going just 2-for-10 shooting and posting a minus-28 in 38 minutes of floor time. The 33-year-old said the team has to do more to help star forward Kawhi Leonard, who topped 30 points for the third straight game on Thursday.
"We've got to help him," Lowry told ESPN. "I was literally saying it during the game. We have to help him. He's doing everything he can possibly do offensively and defensively to f---ing win games, and myself, I'm not helping him enough.
"I'm not putting it on nobody else but me."
Pascal Siakam posted 20 points in the Game 3 loss, while guard Danny Green had 13. With Marc Gasol joining Lowry in being held to just seven points, the veteran point guard said the two have to take more shots.
"We're being unselfish and we have to be more selfish," Lowry said. "We have to help Kawhi and Pascal, and score more and be a little bit more assertive.
"We're just being very - we're passive. We're too passive to a fault."
Lowry appeared to take an elbow to the groin from 76ers point guard Ben Simmons in the first half that went uncalled by the referees. After the game, Lowry said Simmonds apologized to him for the act at halftime.
"Yeah, he said it at halftime," Lowry told ESPN. "Said he didn't mean to. Scott [Foster] didn't call it on the floor. It's not like I'm going to dwell on it or b---- about it. It happened. It's over now.
"We got our a-- kicked after. It didn't matter."
The Raptors now trail the 76ers 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 will take place on Sunday in Philadelphia.
