Pavelski game-time decision for Sharks in Game 7 against Avalanche - NHL.com

DENVER -- Joe Pavelski will be a game-time decision for the San Jose Sharks against the Colorado Avalanche in Game 7 of the Western Conference Second Round at SAP Center on Wednesday (9 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS).

The best-of-7 series is tied 3-3.

Though Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said the forward and captain continues to improve, his availability is yet to be determined.

"I'm not hiding anything," DeBoer said before the Sharks left Denver for San Jose on Tuesday. "He's day to day. He's getting better every day. We're going to make a decision on game day whether he's going to be available or not. I don't have anything more for you. There's nothing hidden. There's no secret information here.

"He'd be playing right now if he had a clean bill of health."

The forward, who sustained an undisclosed injury when his head hit the ice after he was cross-checked by Vegas Golden Knights forward Cody Eakin in Game 7 of the first round on April 23, skated with the Sharks on Monday for the first time since the injury.

He said afterwards he was close to returning.

"Yeah, it's a possibility, I think, and we'll see," Pavelski said the morning of San Jose's 4-3 overtime loss in Game 6. "But it still really is day to day, I think, and go from there. I wish we had a set-in-stone answer. 'Go here, do this and be ready.' We're just kind of taking everything into play."

Pavelski led the Sharks with 38 goals in the regular season.
