Region of Waterloo Public Health reported 11 new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday morning.
It puts the local total at 1,268.
1,061 of those cases are now considered resolved.
But the number of active cases has spiked by five compared to Tuesday - as of Wednesday there are 92 active cases in Waterloo Region.
No additional deaths in the region have been linked to the virus since June 3, that total remains unchanged at 115.
Meantime, outbreaks remain active at Forest Height Revera long-term care, Parkwood Mennonite retirement home and Sunnyside Home (long-term), where four staff members recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Sunnyside says those staff tested positive, even though they were asymptomatic.
The new cases are also not related to the earlier positive result in a resident of the long-term care home.
During a news conference Tuesday, the region's acting medical officer of health did say the status of COVID-19 is stable, but the virus is still active and the first wave is not over.
Here's the provincial breakdown for Wednesday:
- 34,016 total cases (163 new)
- 29,336 cases are resolved
- 2,631 deaths (12 new)
