Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will be back with the team next season, according to L.A. Times reporter Jorge Castillo.
During Wednesday’s 7-3 season-ending loss to the Washington Nationals in Game 5 of the NLDS, Roberts made some highly-scrutinized decisions with his pitching staff.
Most notably, Roberts used Clayton Kershaw in a high-leverage relief role that many believed was better suited for Kenta Maeda. Kershaw, pitching in the 8th inning with a 3-1 lead, allowed solo home runs on back-to-back pitches.
In four years as the Dodgers manager, Roberts has a .606 win percentage and two National League pennants.
