Raptors’ Lowry, Ibaka leave game vs. Pelicans with injuries - Sportsnet.ca

The Toronto Raptors will be without Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka for the second half of Friday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Lowry left the game with a left thumb injury while Ibaka is out with a right ankle sprain.

Lowry’s injury occurred in the first quarter and he was spotted looking at his thumb multiple times throughout the rest of the first half. He finished the night with six points and five assists in 16 minutes.

Ibaka’s injury occurred late in the second quarter when he landed awkwardly and appeared to twist his ankle. In 12 minutes of action off the bench, Ibaka had eight points and six rebounds.

Nick Nurse addressed both injuries after the game, saying that Lowry has a small fracture in his left thumb, unrelated to his previous injury, and Ibaka has a severely sprained ankle.
