The Toronto Maple Leafs have a lot of questions to answer, starting with Mike Babcock
Mike Babcock’s time with the Toronto Maple Leafs has turned him from being one of the most exciting signings in franchise history, to becoming one of the most polarizing figures among Leafs fans, within a very short period of time.
As of late, fans have been critical of the way Babcock has decided to utilize his players, and have questioned the structure of the lineups he is putting out every night.
It is impossible to argue that Mike Babcock is the sole issue for why the Maple Leafs have not reached the expectations of the fanbase so far this year, but there are times where he is surely not helping.
For a man who is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in the league, some decisions have left Leafs fans, including myself, confused as to why Babcock along with the rest of the coaching staff cannot figure out a solid strategy to win hockey games.
Today I’ll be exploring whether or not firing Mike Babcock is the right move for the Maple Leafs right now, whether or not Sheldon Keefe of the Toronto Marlies would be a strong replacement, and who else there is to blame for the Leafs’ struggles thus far.
