EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos will be without their star pivot for longer than originally expected.
Trevor Harris has been moved to the six-game injured list ahead of the team’s Week 16 game against the Ottawa REDBLACKS.
Harris was forced to leave the Esks’ Week 13 clash with the Calgary Stampeders after suffering what appeared to be an injury to his throwing arm.
The 33-year-old was having an MOP-calibre campaign during his first season with the Eskimos, throwing for 3,706, 15 touchdowns, and just four interceptions while completing 71 percent of his passes in 12 contests.
Backup Logan Kilgore will take over under centre for the Esks until Harris’ return. The 29-year-old came in to relieve Harris in Week 13 and completed 21 of 28 passes for 242 yards. In his two appearances this season, Kilgore has put up 465 yards and thrown for two majors.
The Eskimos will travel to TD Place on Saturday for their game against the Ottawa REDBLACKS, which kicks off at 4:00 p.m. ET.
