Cavan Biggio (two runs, RBI) had three of Toronto’s seven hits in the game: no other player recorded more than one. Clay Buchholz (1-5) took the loss in his first career start against his former team: he threw four innings, allowing four runs on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts.

Jacob Waguespack takes the mound for his 14th appearance and 11th start of the year for the Blue Jays in this contest. He comes in 4-4 with a 4.55 ERA, a 1.326 WHIP, 24 walks and 48 strikeouts over 63.1 innings of work on the year. Waguespack took the loss in his last start, which came on the road against Tampa Bay Sunday afternoon. Prior to his recall to the majors, he was 2-6 with a 5.30 ERA, a 1.557 WHIP, 25 walks and 52 strikeouts over 52.2 innings in 12 appearances, 11 starts, with Triple-A Buffalo of the International League.
